10th Backpackers’, the traditional music flow, will take place in the middle of March in Gödör Club. This year in consideration of the jubilee the organizers have put even more into the biggest music festival of spring time in Budapest; of course this year again we would like to make it easier for both native and foreign young people, for “backpackers” to stay here over the festival, so Budapest’s youth hostels’ guests will be able to visit the concerts with a 5 HUF priced symbolic ticket. The music programs will be on the main stage with one of the most up-to-date sound and light technics of Europe, every day. The performers of the nights are the most well-known and popular bands of Hungary including two album release concerts.
On the first day, Friday, the 12th of March, Kelet-Nyugat starts the festival, with their angry-romantic songs, with a surprisingly youthful stand-up, sometimes with acoustic, other times with distortional guitars.
After them Magna Cum Laude will show how they are in their best form. Their latest album was sold really well and there wasn’t any festival they were not invited to. The ten-year-old band is the guest of the ten-year-old festival so the rampage won’t be missing that night.
After them Bëlga will present their new album, which can be bought at the concert for a first cost, 400 HUF. The album, called „Politician” contains the latest year’s public life’s phrases put to music.
The dance must go on, after Bëlga, Lőrinc Barabás is on stage with his band, the Eklektic. The young talents play jazzy-reggae-hip-hop music and the Hungarian audience got to like them really quickly. They haven’t only had success here but in Paris and London also. We will hear songs from their new album, but we wont miss the improvisational “happy to play music” session either.
After the concerts DJ NINth will make us dance into the second day.
On Saturday, the 13th of March there will be a “never before electronic music day”. Zagar, teenage girls’ idol will start, throughout his concert we will feel like being in the very centre of the party.
Right after him Korai Öröm will be on stage, so we can be sure that the usual shaman energy will be given to us in extra dose, since its not a usual but an album release concert.
After them a “little relaxing” will come with The Carbonfools. Dancing or spinning our fingers over our heads with Zsazsa… everyone needs a little fooling around.
ColorStar will present their wildest self, nothing acoustic or sitting down, only dancing and partying.
And for those who still have energy after all of this, Korai’s Banditos will make sure they can dance till closing time.
At the closing day of the festival (Sunday, the 14th of March)only the really cool ones will be able to survive (if they have been there on the first two days), but Marlboro Man! will help them with a truly wild start. All of their concerts have some surprises. As usual, the best of the profession will be there and take part in playing music, so those, who like specialties, it’s a must.
After them “Apokalipszis itt és most” (Apocalypse here and now): Péter Müller Sziámi and the First Class Rural Guys will be on stage. At this concert Sziámi’s most popular line-up will uproar. The repertoire will include songs from the era between 1991 and 1997 and the best and most well known albums’ (Testből testbe, Mr. Pornowsky, Olyan vagy, etc) songs will be played once again. The guest of the concert is the already well-known Odett Polgár.
Urban guys will follow the rural, accompanying Bori Péterfy. After Love Band’s album release concert in December in Gödör we would like to recommend this one to all of those, whom either missed the last concert because it was sold out and to those, who would like to have the wonderful experience again.
The last concert of the festival will be Duende’s, who were formed in 2000. They are at their best, have been playing all over Hungary in the last few years. They present their exciting lyrics and catchy melodies in a way, that all of us feels: “its only for me!”.
The three-day madness will be finished by SM’s Café’s disc jockey, DJ Bence.
Day tickets on a pre-sale price of 2300 HUF can be bought in the Café of Gödör, in SM’s Café (VII. Síp u. 4.), or can be ordered online from
our homepage. On the day of the concerts tickets can be bought for 2600 HUF in Gödör.
