From the 31st of May until the 6th of June there will be Athe Sam again in and around Gödör. These two days are about to herald this big event, where Chico and the Gypsies (ES/ Rumba Catalana) will perform!

Chico, the legendary founder and front men of Gypsy Kings is co-author of songs such as „Bamboleo”, „Djobi, Djobi” and „Ben Ben Maria”. More than 30 gold albums and 10 platinum albums are a guarantee for his name. With his band „Chico and The Gypsies” he’s going around the world as a hurricane, making people dance and selling over 20 million albums. The peace minister of UNESCO, Djeloul Bouchikhi, alias Chico, and his band, Chico & The Gypsies after 14 years is in Hungary again.
 

4th Athe Sam Festival is coming! – 26-27 of March

This is not Athe Sam Festival yet, but a great a teaser of it. The festival itself will be held between the 31st of May and 6th of June, where our star guest will be Chico and the Gypsies (ES/Rumba Catalana)!

The teasing days will open with a round table talk, held by Gypsy politician professionals. Gödör Club tries to create a forum for the publicity of political concepts connected with gypsies. The first talk: “Future-tellers talk about Gypsies” will start on Friday at 4pm.

At the same time, Julcsi, Athe Sam Festival’s future teller does personal prophesy in another room.

 

On Friday the music program starts with Goulasch Exotica at 9 pm. The band, formed in 2007, is a project of three underground musicians: Tamás Jutasi, Nafta and Suefo. Many Hungarian and foreign musicians have joined them, the Szilvási Gipsy Folk Band, the Kistehén Tánczenekar, Ági Szalóki, Krsa, Zoltán Beck and the Italian Mau Mau. 

 

Pad Brapad, from Franceplays after Goulasch Exotica.Six enthusiastic musicians: two violins, an accordion, two turntables, a double bass, percussions and a drum kit. The new music trend: urban gypsy!

Folkfree is the last but not the least band of the night with electronic, world, gypsy and Hungarian folk music.

Between the concerts Katesz Balogh’s dance group presents their gypsy dance performance. Katesz Balogh has started dancing, when she was only 9 years-old. She has been teaching Gypsy and non-gypsy adults for dancing for many years.

 

DJ Pozsi will keep us awake till morning time.

On Saturday there will be a very peculiar show in Gödör: Riddim Colony and Parno Graszt, the Jamaican-style Hungarian reggae band and the authentic gypsy band’s joined concert. Katesz Balogh’s dance group have created a dance performance for Parno Graszt’s music especially for this night.

After the concerts DJ Jutasi is going to put some records on.

 

The first day of the pre-festival is free, for the second day tickets are 1500 HUF, which you can buy on the day at Gödör.
