Gábor Bolla Quartet

Bolla Quartet was founded on the 15th of October, 2003, which was the 15th birthday of Gábor Bolla. The founding members of the band are: Gábor Bolla (saxophone), Gábor Cseke (piano), Zoltán Oláh (double bass) and András Mohay (drums). Throughout the years Zoltán Oláh was rotated with György Orbán, and Gábor Cseke with Róbert Szakcsi Lakatos.
They have played all over Europe: in Vienna, Bucharest, St Petersburg, Brugge, Brussels, Paris, Bratislava, Amsterdam, Prague, Avignon, London, Frankfurt. In 2005 they received first prize at the Avignon Jazz Competition. Next to the jury’s prize, they have also won the audience’s award and Róbert Szakcsi Lakatos got the award for best soloist. Thanks to these, they could record an album in one of the best studios in France. Their style is typical of modern straight-ahead jazz.
